Darren Shaffer, MA, Regional Director
​

In the Fall of 2016 Darren joined Folium Inc., where he became the Regional Director.

Darren’s responsibilities include being the Administrator for the Laurel Life, and

Affinity Educational Programs serving Franklin County. He works closely with partnering

District Representatives to provide an array of Educational services which benefit

students both within and outside the District setting.

Darren’s unique Position branches into all four divisions of Folium Inc, the only employee to have that distinction other than the Senior Leadership. Other duties include assisting with New Staff Orientation, being a member of the Core TIC Team, and most recently a certified trainer for the organization through the American Heart Association.  

 

Darren is the Administrator for the Mill Road Adventure Challenge and Team Building Course. The Mill Road Adventure Challenge Course is located on the grounds of the Brown’s Mill Center, where School Districts, Sports Teams, and Businesses have all contracted for challenging, fun, adventurous team-building activities.

Darren’s other responsibility is the Administrator of the Rolling Hills Transit. Rolling Hills Transit provides transportation services to Districts for their “public and non-public students”. Services include daily transportation to and from school, field trips, and “special trips” such as athletic teams. Currently, Rolling Hills Transit has over 60 Vans and mini-vans in operation on a daily basis throughout the state of Pennsylvania.  

 

Prior to joining Folium, Darren began his career as an Emotional Support Teacher with the Capital Area Intermediate Unit #15 where he continued to work for 8 years. In 2002 Darren joined a Private Adventure Education organization where he served in the capacities of a teacher, a coordinator, and an Educational Director.

​

Darren attended Dickinson College where he earned a BA in History and Education. He also completed 57 graduate credits in “Instructional Strategies” and “Special Education” from Wilkes University and Shippensburg University respectively.  Darren has coached Basketball and Baseball for over 18 years, and enjoys golfing, fishing and vacationing.
